Question: How Do I Sell More eBooks?

Answer: We now know the naysayers were wrong – eBooks are no fad.  Anyone with Adobe Reader (that means anyone with a browser these days) can buy an eBook about practically anything and in 60 seconds be browsing through the pages and printing the parts they like.  Some of my own publishing sites have grossed over $1 Million in sales, and although I am one of the few that has done that with electronic books, I know of many authors that are doing well.

The web is changing with trends towards “Web 2.0″ or social marketing and the “warm touch” when marketing your ebooks.

That’s where my marketing tip of the day comes in: “personal branding” – where the author’s name and face are front and center on the eBook cover. Where the author shares their personal story in the sales pitch, so  people can relate to who they’re buying from.  People like to know that you’re real – in fact, go ahead and leave a few typos in your sales copy! Makes you seem a little bit more human.

So don’t hesitate to add a personal touch to your eBooks. When I put a picture of my face on the cover of “Write a Best Selling eBook” and test marketed it – with the exact same content and advertising as before – it doubled my conversion rate. That means I sold twice as many books from the same number of clicks, just because people could attach a face to my name. So powder your nose, slick back your cowlick, grab a camera and…go sell some eBooks!
